Remittances
Remittances are an important part of life, for many newcomers to Canada. Making money, and sending that money home for others who remain in the country of origin, is a sign of both economic self-reliance for the income-earner here, and can be a critically important income stream for the family behind. But how much of what starts as a remittance here ends up in the intended hands back home? Are there good and bad practices in the ethical transmission of funds?
